This legislation grants citizens the right to access information held by public authorities, with the goal of enhancing transparency and accountability in their operations. Universities and colleges that are established by an act of Parliament or a State Legislature, or that are notified, owned, controlled, or largely funded by the Government\u2014whether directly or indirectly\u2014are considered \u201cpublic authorities\u201d under this Act. Accordingly, these institutions must review the RTI Act&#8217;s provisions and implement the necessary measures, including the proactive disclosure of specific information. This information must be made accessible to the public via the institution\u2019s website.
